Violin lessons & chamber coaching

Bartholomew is an internationally recognized teacher. He served as a teaching assistant in the pre-college program of the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University from 2020–2021, taught at the Reading Symphony Junior String Orchestra Academy in 2022, and was a Teaching Artist with Play On Philly in spring 2023.

He maintains an active private studio of in-person and online students and is currently accepting new students. He also offers chamber music coaching to pre-formed groups. In October 2024 he gave a masterclass at the Metropolitan State University of Denver and a Vilacello presentation at the University of Ottawa, and in summer 2025 served as program director and resident violin faculty at the Rocky Ridge Music Center in Colorado.

His students have come from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Canada, Africa and across the United States — from beginners to very advanced players. His pedagogical approach draws on years of study with Sally Thomas, Soh-Hyun Park Altino and Judith Ingolfsson, along with in-depth pedagogy training with Eugene Purdue (University of Wisconsin–Madison) and Rebecca Henry (Peabody Institute).

In 2020, Bartholomew was featured on Rob Landes' YouTube channel in a video that has reached 10.5 million views.

“I had a blast! Bart gave really good advice and I would recommend him to you if you would like to get better at the violin.”
